Today I wanted to talk to you about difference between decree nisi and decree absolute in divorce proceedings.
Decree nisi is a provisional decree of divorce pronounced when the court feels that a person has met the legal and procedural requirements to obtain divorce.
Upon announcement, you still remain legally married and you have to wait at least 6 weeks and 1 day before you can apply for decree absolute, the final divorce decree and the decree which actually dissolves your marriage.
