The Allergy Team was set up by allergy mum and former TV producer, Sarah Knight.
Wherever you are on your food allergy journey The Allergy Team offers a supportive community, trusted information and courses. From the moment you begin to wonder if your child might have a food allergy and start navigating medical appointments and tests, to finding childcare, starting school and gaining independence, we’re with you every step of the way.
Sarah’s two sons have multiple, life-threatening food allergies and she remembers vividly being discharged from hospital, clutching EpiPens and antihistamine for her 6 month old, feeling completely overwhelmed.
Looking for information and the support of people going through the same thing, Sarah and her husband hit the internet. When they couldn’t find the help their family needed The Allergy Team was born. Sarah describes it as “the resource I wish I’d had to hold my hand from diagnosis to thriving”. We hope you find our content useful.
If your child has a food allergy you might be wrestling with weaning and yearning for more allergy friendly recipes. Perhaps you’re wondering what questions to ask at medical appointments or how to prepare your child for a skin prick test. The Allergy Team draws on the experience and knowledge of other allergy families and medical experts (including clinical psychologists, allergy nurses, consultants and nutritionists) to guide you through all of this. On top of that we’ll support you as you navigate playdates, eating out, travelling and starting school.
As well as the articles, videos and expert webinars, we also run courses to support families whose children with food allergies are starting primary school – all soon to be available via Bloss.
Years on from that first diagnosis, Sarah’s sons are thriving. Will loves football and Freddie loves cooking. We’d love to support you on your journey too.
